Multi-Contact Collaborates with Shoals Technologies Group on an Innovative New PV Product
The Stäubli Group company Multi-Contact, which specializes in electrical connectors for power, PV and other applications, has collaborated with Shoals Technologies Group, a leader in renewable energy, to develop a highly versatile new junction box system called MultiLink.

MultiLink allows the panel manufacturer or field integrator/end user to adapt modules based on the needs of the installation, thus creating a custom solution. It streamlines installation and inventory management by giving the module a universal and interchangeable interface, compatible with all of today’s leading electronics manufacturers, allowing for DC/DC optimization or DC/AC conversion. MultiLink can also act as a standard junction box when no power electronics are required.
Dean Solon, CEO and Founder of Shoals Technologies Group, remarked, “Shoals views this collaboration as the first step in providing a solution to a common need among major suppliers in the industry. Shoals and MC have worked closely together for years, but this is a step forward and an agreement to show the marketplace compatible products in a unified, high quality way.”
Both companies have seen high demand for MultiLink in the marketplace, and have opened manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe and Asia to ensure that it can be supplied on demand across the globe.
“This collaboration is very promising and future-oriented, and a vision coming true of a globalized PV market that Multi-Contact has had for years. Shoals has been a strong supporter of MC and this collaboration is the next step in supplying the PV world with innovative solutions from different places in the world,” said Franco Delvecchio, CEO of Multi-Contact.
Stäubli and Multi-Contact will be showcasing their latest products at Solar Power International 2011, October 18 – 20 at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, TX. We invite you to visit us at Booth 5130.
