Stäubli Textile Introduces MAGMA T12: A Dexterous Solution for Tying Course Fabrics

Stäubli has been one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-speed textile machinery for over a century, developing machines and accessories for frame, jacquard and carpet weaving.

In the area of weaving preparation, Stäubli offers advanced systems for warp tying, automatic drawing-in, warp leasing and quick style changes. Its TOPMATIC and MAGMA machines set the standard for high-performance warp tying.

The new MAGMA T12 ideally completes Stäubli’s line of tying machines. It handles yarns that are outside the capabilities of TOPMATIC, designed for finer yarns, with a tying range encompassing cotton, wool, linen, polyester, Kevlar, mono- and multi-filaments, PP ribbons and many other types of yarn, even goat’s hair, from medium count to very coarse range. It is particularly well suited to tying the technical fabrics rapidly gaining prominence in the industry.

MAGMA T12 Product Features

MAGMA T12 features a patented thread separation system that reliably separates threads from 1:1 lease with no need for thread- specific separating elements or special adjustments. The machine also features an optoelectronic system for double-end detection. Optical sensors check every separated yarn pair before it’s tied, preventing false double yarns from being tied and resulting in tied warp of excellent quality.

MAGMA T12 is highly reliable and extremely easy to operate. Getting started involves simply mounting the machine on the tying frame and pushing the start button. The operator can choose to have MAGMA T12 tie single or double knots with the push of a button, and the tying rate can easily be optimized using the adjustment wheel. Maintenance is also low, as no period immersion in an oil bath is necessary.

MAGMA T12 and other Stäubli Textile products will be showcased at ITMA 2011, September 22 - 29 in Barcelona. Visit us in Hall 3, Booths D148/150 and A166.
